Getting Started
- Do I need an account to browse listings?
- No, you can browse and search all listings without an account. You only need to create an account to post listings, contact sellers, or save favourites.
- Is it free to post?
- Yes! Posting listings on Marty is completely free. There are no hidden fees or commissions.
- How do I create an account?
- Click "Sign Up" in the header, provide your email and password, and verify your email address. That's it!
Posting Listings
- How do I post a listing?
- Click "Post a Listing" from the homepage or header. Choose a category, fill out the form (title, description, price, photos), and publish. Your listing goes live immediately after automated safety checks.
- How many photos can I upload?
- You can upload up to 8 photos per listing. Images help buyers understand what you're selling and increase interest.
- Can I edit or delete my listing?
- Yes. Go to "My Listings" in your account menu. You can edit details, add photos, mark as sold, or delete entirely.
- Why was my listing flagged or removed?
- Our AI safety system flags listings that may contain scams, prohibited items, or harmful content. If your listing was removed in error, please contact us for review.
Buying & Contacting Sellers
- How do I contact a seller?
- Click "Contact Seller" on any listing. You'll be able to send a message through our secure messaging system without exposing your email.
- Why can't I see the seller's phone number or email?
- For privacy and safety, contact information is hidden by default. Use our messaging system to communicate first, then exchange details if both parties agree.
- How do I know if a seller is trustworthy?
- Look for our trust indicators: account age, verification badges, and scam scores. Always meet in public places and never send money before seeing the item. See our Safety Tips for more.
Safety & Trust
- What is the scam score badge?
- Our AI analyses listings for suspicious patterns (too-good-to-be-true pricing, known scam language, fake photos). A scam badge means "proceed with caution" — not necessarily fraudulent, but worth extra verification.
- How do I report a suspicious listing?
- Click "Flag" on any listing and select a reason (scam, spam, prohibited, offensive). Our moderation team reviews all reports within 24 hours.
- What should I do if I suspect fraud?
- Report the listing immediately, do not send money, and contact our support team. See our Safety Tips page for detailed guidance.
Account & Privacy
- How do I change my password?
- Go to Account Settings, click "Change Password," enter your current password and new password, then save.
- Can I delete my account?
- Yes. Contact our support team to permanently delete your account and all associated data.
- Do you sell my data?
